What Is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a derma filler that is used for cosmetic purposes. It is made out of polymer poly-L-lactic acid, which is what helps stimulate the growth of new collagen. Sculptra was originally designed for HIV patients because they have a tendency to develop facial lipoatrophy, which is a condition that causes the skin tissue to degenerate and leads to premature aging. In 2009, the Food and Drug Administration approved Sculptra for cosmetic uses.
