What is involved in the procedure?
Dr. Zieg is only one of five doctors in the USA using VASER Liposelection for facial procedures. VASER LiposelectionTM is a dramatic new technology that removes unwanted fat cells with minimal discomfort during the procedure and minimal post-procedure pain and bruising. The VASER technique first uses ultrasound energy to break up and emulsify fat, leaving surrounding tissue--such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue relatively intact. Then the liquefied fat can be aspirated using a fine cannula to create the desired smooth surfaces and curves.
What is the normal healing time after this procedure?
Because Dr.Zieg uses VASER LiposelectionTM for facial contouring procedures, you will experience much less discomfort than with traditional liposuction procedures. You may experience mild discomfort and slight swelling or bruising that will respond well to mild pain relievers or cold compresses. You should be able to resume your normal activities within two to four days.
What results can I expect?
The result of facial VASER LiposelectionTM is a resculpting of bulging areas into more attractive and more youthful facial contours. Results can be dramatic and are likely to be permanent because once fat cells are removed they will not re-grow, so excess fat will not be stored in those areas any more. However, some patients may require a fine-tuning procedure at a future date.
